Each new version of OSX has been more intrusive as far as background processes interfering with efficiency. Of course no one can tell about Yosemite just yet, a few hundred users need to report in first. I honestly think it's because Apple's priorities have changed. They are building their product range with a somewhat different vision as to when snow leopard was around. And obviously this is what drew the niche pro market in to the company and its products.
Over time Apple's costumer base grew and what originally gave them their appeal has turned them into a company that has to now cater to a much larger costumer base The music professional has a different set of priorities for their production system and I think that is where the conflict lies.

I found iLok caused too many other issues that made my systems here unstable in the past so i avoid using it as much as i can on Macs Any iLok protected plugins I use are hosted on a PC using windows versions of those plugins..
I have quite a lot of iLok licences, including several that I'm beta testing, so iLok must work for me. I don'y know what the issue was but LPX Might be a bug within my Mac but i have reinstalled Marvericks from TM and it sounds how it was and none of my loops are out of sync.
